Cooking is not an exact science - and sometimes baking is not that specific in measurement or ingredient. When the time comes, knowing an accurate substitution is key. Below is a list of great substitutions when cooking or baking!

1. Eggs → Applesauce (great for baking)

2. Mayo → Avocado (for sandwiches)

3. Chicken Stock → Carrot Juice + Tomato Juice + Water OR low sodium Vegetable Stock

4. Butter → Olive Oil

5. Eggs → Yogurt (when coating an item for deep frying)

6. Sour Cream → Greek Yogurt + Lemon Juice + Salt

7. Tarragon → 1:1 ratio chives + chervil

8. Cornstarch → 8:1 ratio Flour + Cream of Tartar

9. Brown Sugar → 4:1 ratio Granulated Sugar + Molasses

10. One Pound Ground Beef → 3 TB olive oil + ½ bell pepper + ¼ jalapeño + ½ cup carrot, chopped small + ½ onion, minced + 1 TB garlic, minced + 2 TB flax seed, ground + 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce + ½ pound ground turkey + seasonings TT
